Ingredients for chicken stew
- 10 Tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon of tin tomatoes
- 2 onions
- 1 carrot (chopped)
- 1 green bell pepper (chopped)
- 1 clove of garlic (crushed)
- Ground ginger
- Salt (to taste)
- 4 scotch bonnet pepper
- 1 tablespoon of curry
- 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper

- Cooking oil
What Chicken Stew Is Served With
Chicken stew can be served with plain rice, fried rice, curry rice, boiled yam, fried yam, boiled potatoes and spaghetti.
Special Utensils Needed
- Blender
- Frying pan
- Wooden spoon
Steps to prepare chicken stew
- Cut your chicken and put into a bowl and spice it with salt, cayenne pepper, ground ginger and crushed garlic (one clove). Set aside.
- Blend your onions, garlic(one clove) and scotch bonnet pepper together with a little water.
- Chop your tomatoes onto a plate.
- Pour oil into a saucepan and heat.
- Pour the blended mixture into the heated oil in the saucepan and stir.
- Add your tin tomatoes and stir. Leave it to be on fire for a while.
- Add your chopped tomatoes and stir.
- Allow it to cook for a while
- Add salt and curry.
- Get a saucepan and steam your spiced chicken till it cooks.
- Set your frying pan on fire and pour oil into it.
- Fry the chicken in the oil and transfer onto a plate. Set aside.
- Add stock of chicken to stew and stir. When stew is ready, add the fried chicken to the stew on fire and stir.
- Add your chopped carrots, onions and green pepper and stir.
- Let it simmer for a little while and remove from fire.
It is now ready to serve with any suitable dish of your choice.
