Ingredients for beef stew

  • 1 pound of beef
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 carrots (chopped)
  • 1 green bell pepper (chopped)
  • Beef stock
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • Water (a little)
  • Parsley (optional)

 

What Beef Stew Is Served With

Beef stew is served with plain or fried rice, jollof rice, spaghetti, boiled potato or yam.

 

 

Steps to prepare beef stew

  1.  Mix flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper together. Put your beef into it and stir.
  2.  Put a saucepan on fire and pour some oil into it. Let it heat up a little.
  3.  Pour in your beef and chopped onions. Let the beef cook well.
  4.  Pour in your beef stock  and stir.
  5.  Add in your chopped carrots, green bell pepper, tomato paste and stir.
  6.  Add salt and cayenne pepper and stir.
  7.  Lower the fire a bit and let it cook until the beef becomes soft.
  8.  Mix corn starch with water and add it to the beef.
  9.  Leave it to cook for a while and remove from fire.
  10.  Garnish it with some chopped parsley and serve.
