Ingredients for Etor

  • 5 ripe plantains
  • ½  onion
  • 1 large red scotch bonnet (red pepper)
  • ¼ cup roasted peanuts
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 5 tablespoons of palm oil
  • Pear (optional)

 

What Etor Can Be Served With

Etor can be served with roasted groundnuts, pear and boiled egg.

1.Earthenware bowl and wooden masher.

 

Steps to prepare Etor

  1. Put a sauce pan with water on fire, peel your plantains (some ripe and some partially ripe) and boil for about 15 minutes.
  2. When it’s ready, drain water from it and set aside.
  3. Grind your scotch bonnet pepper, some roasted groundnuts, onions and a pinch of salt in the earthenware bowl.
  4. Add in the plantain and mash together.
  5. Use a spoon to mix everything well and mash again in the earthenware bowl till it’s well mixed.
  6. Add your palm oil and mix it with the etor mixture.
  7. Serve with roasted groundnuts and pear.
