Brief About Fula

Fula is a millet dough usually made into balls and contains spices. It is served as a beverage as well. The millet meal was usually prepared by the Fulani people of West Africa. Millet contains dietary fiber which is necessary for free bowels and help reduce your risk of colon cancer.

Ingredients for Fula

  • ½ cup of millet
  • ½ teaspoon of alligator pepper, ginger and cloves.
  • 4 cups of milk(fermented) or yoghurt
  • Sugar (to suit your taste)

 

What Fula Can Be Served With

Fula can be served with evaporated milk or yoghurt.

Steps t0 prepare fula (instructions0

1.Put your millet into a bowl and wash.

2.Add one cup of water, your spices and blend till you get a smooth mixture.

3.Pour the blended millet mixture into a sauce pan on fire.

4.Stir till it becomes like a dough

5.Add in one tablespoon of water to the millet dough you have got.

6.Bring down the heat  and leave it on fire for about 5 minutes.

7.Use a ladle to transfer the dough from the sauce pan into a bowl. Let it cool down.

8.You can now add the fermented milk or yoghurt, mash together and serve cold.
