Ingredients for Chicken Chasni Recipe

  • Boneless chicken breast or thigh or fish
  • 3 large onions
  • One and a half tbsp chili powder, turmeric
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 150g spinach
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Garlic
  • ginger
  • 1 tbsp pinch of salt
  • 200ml chicken stock
  • 2 lemons
  • 1tbsp mint
  • 150ml greek yogurt
  • 2tbsp mango chutney
  • 150ml tomato puree/ketchup
  • Mayonnaise

Things to note

  • If you don’t like mango, you can ignore the mango chutney
  • Strain the lemon juice into a jar before you start cooking

Steps to prepare chicken Chasni

  1. Chop chicken into smaller pieces
  2. Chop onions and spinach
  3. Place a non-stick frying pan on a medium-heat stove
  4. Add olive oil and allow to heat
  5. Add onion, garlic, and ginger, turmeric, chili, and salt to taste
  6. Stir well until the mixture is evenly mixed
  7. Add chopped chicken pieces and stir
  8. Continue stirring until spices enter the chicken well
  9. Add mango chutney
  10. Add the tomato puree, mint, sugar, and lemon juice
  11. Stir and let the stock simmer for about 25 minutes
  12. Turn off the heat and add yogurt and mayonnaise
  13. Stir the mixture until everything is evenly mixed
  14. Adjust salt, water, and spices to your preference
  15. Garnish with spinach and stir briefly
