Ingredients

  • Fish fillets
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Scotch bonnet peppers
  • Cilantro
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • Puff pastry sheets
  • Egg (for egg wash)

Preparation Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Blend the onions, garlic, ginger, scotch bonnet peppers, cilantro, salt, and black pepper to make a paste.
  3. Marinate the fish fillets with the prepared paste. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them into squares.
  5. Place a marinated fish fillet on each puff pastry square and fold it over to form a triangle.
  6. Seal the edges of the pastry triangle using a fork.
  7. Place the prepared pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the pastries with beaten egg for an egg wash.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven and let the African Fish Pastries cool slightly before serving.
