Preparation Steps

  1. Thinly slice the beef and place it in a large bowl.
  2. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, salt, five-spice powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and white pepper to the bowl.
  3. Massage the seasonings into the beef slices until well coated. Let it marinate for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to the lowest temperature possible (around 80°C or 175°F).
  5. Place the marinated beef slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake the beef slices in the preheated oven for about 4-5 hours, or until they are dry and crispy.
  7. Remove the beef from the oven and let it cool.
  8. Shred the beef into fine strands using your fingers or a fork.
  9. Store the meat floss in an airtight container.
