Ingredients for dumplings without stew

  • 4 cups of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 300mls of warm water
  • 2 cups of cabbage
  • 2 cups of sliced green onion
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 4 tablespoons of ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
  • ¾ cup of mushrooms
  • ¾ cup of diced carrot

 

 

What Dumplings Can Be Served With

Dumplings can be served with stew, cabbage salad, vegetable stir-fry, hot and sour soup.

Preparation Steps

  1.  Add flour, salt and warm water in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Roll the dough on a floured board or flat surface and knead it well.
  3. Divide the dough into four parts.
  4. Roll out each dough and further divide them.
  5. Add a little flour to the dough pieces and roll out one piece into a thin circle of about10cm in diameter.
  6. Keep the dumpling wrappers separated with a small piece of parchment paper and do the same for the dough left.
  7. Add the cabbage, green onions, garlic, soy sauce and sesame oil in a bowl and mix well.
  8. Add mushrooms and carrot to the vegetables and microwave for about three minutes.
  9. Add some more cabbage and stir well.
  10. Scoop a tablespoon of vegetable mixture and put it at the center of the dumpling wrapper.
  11. Use your finger to lightly coat half of the outside of the wrapper over the filling and use your fingers to press down on the edges to seal them.
  12. Do the same for the rest.
  13. Heat some oil in a skillet and put some dumplings into the oil gently. When the bottom of the dumplings begin to brown, add a splash of water and cover with the lid.
  14. Steam the dumplings for about five minutes or until the dumplings are well cooked and the water evaporates.
  15. Put the cooked dumplings on a tray lined with a paper towel.
