Equipment

  • Strainer
  • whisk

Ingredients
  

  • tea bag
  • sweetener sugar or honey
  • water
  • vanilla extract
  • cinnamon and nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • Heat water in a small saucepan over medium-high heat until it comes to a boil.
  • Add chai tea bag or loose chai tea to the saucepan and let it steep for 3-5 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bag or strain the loose tea leaves. Add milk to the saucepan and heat until it is steaming hot
  • Do not let it boil. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add sweetener and vanilla extract, if using.
  • Whisk or froth the milk until it becomes frothy and creamy. Pour the chai tea into mugs, then pour the steamed milk over the tea.
  • Sprinkle ground cinnamon or nutmeg on top, if desired
  • Serve hot and enjoy your homemade chai tea latte

Notes

You can use any type of milk you prefer, including whole milk, almond milk, soy milk, or oat milk.
Adjust the amount of sweetener to your taste preference. You can also use a sugar substitute like stevia or Splenda.
To make a stronger chai tea, add another tea bag or tablespoon of loose tea.
If you don't have a whisk or milk frother, you can use a blender or a jar with a lid to froth the milk.
