BARBECUE RECIPE

Barbecue is a method of using fire and smoke to prepare food especially beef, chicken, lamb, goat, fish, among others. It is usually done on special occasions to host visitors or in restaurants, barbecue is done as part of their menu. Barbecue gives the meat or fish a unique flavor and is a good method too.

Barbecue burns fat in the meat and this makes it a healthier option, compared to frying.

Barbecue is not such a complicated thing, as a matter of fact, it is quite easy once you have the required utensils, meat and spices you need.

Today, we bring you a simple barbecue beef recipe.

 

Ingredients for BARBECUE RECIPE

  • 2 tablespoons of garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of powdered pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 1 small carrot (chopped)
  • Celery (chopped)
  • Beef

 

What Barbecue Can Be Served With

Barbecue beef can be served with roasted potatoes, potato chips, yam chips, fried rice, jollof rice, salad, vegetables and baked beans.

 

 

Special Utensils

  • Barbecue grill
  • Tongs
  • Barbecue brush

 

Steps to prepare BARBECUE

  1. Smear some cooking oil all over the beef and mix all these dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Smear some of the mixed spices all over the beef and set aside for some time. (45 minutes – 1 hour).
  3. Put some charcoal in the grill and light it with matches, let it heat up.(on medium heat)
  4. Put the grill mesh over it and use your tongs to pick the beef and put it on the grill mesh.
  5. Add a little oil to the rest of the dry spices in a bowl and use a barbecue brush to dip into the mixture and brush over the beef, front and back. (Do this if you want to add more of the spices).
  6. Turn over from time to time till it browns and is ready to remove from fire.
  7. Serve onto a plate and garnish with some vegetables (onions, carrots, celery).
