Notes

  1. Use lean ground turkey: When buying ground turkey, look for lean or extra lean varieties to keep the dish healthier.
  2. Don't overcrowd the skillet: To ensure that the turkey cooks evenly, don't overcrowd the skillet. If necessary, cook the turkey in batches.
  3. Drain any excess fat: As the turkey cooks, it may release some fat. If there is excess fat in the skillet, drain it off before adding the onion and garlic.
  4. Customize the seasoning: This recipe calls for salt and pepper, but you can add other seasonings to suit your taste. Try adding chili powder, cumin, or paprika for a little extra flavor.
  5. Use leftovers in other dishes: Cooked ground turkey is a versatile ingredient that can be used in many different dishes. Consider using any leftovers in tacos, salads, pasta dishes, or casseroles.
  6. Store leftovers properly: If you have leftover cooked ground turkey, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days, or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
