Ingredients
- full-fat milk powder
- condensed milk
- ghee
- sugar
- cardamom powder
- chopped nuts
- milk
Instructions
- Line a square or rectangular baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the milk powder and condensed milk. Mix well to form a smooth, lump-free mixture.
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, combine sugar and milk. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Add ghee and cardamom powder to the sugar-milk mixture. Stir well
- Pour the milk powder-condensed milk mixture into the pan.Stir continuously over medium heat until the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
- Transfer the thickened mixture to the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
- Allow the burfee mixture to set for 2-3 hours or until firm.Optionally, garnish with chopped nuts for added texture and flavor.
- Once set, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the burfee from the dish.Place it on a cutting board and cut into squares or diamonds.
