Steamed dumplings with vanilla sauce is a perfect dish that combines traditionally steamed dumplings with sweet vanilla sauce. The dumplings are filled with a mixture of finely chopped vegetables and ground meat and the vanilla sauce is made with milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cornstarch which makesthe dish more creamier.

Ingredients
Steamed Dumplings:
- Dumpling wrappers (check out our recipe on dumplings to know how to get your wrappers made at home
- 1 cup finely chopped vegetables e.g., cabbage, carrots, mushrooms
- Ground meat chicken, pork, or tofu for a vegetarian option
- Garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Vanilla sauce:
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
Steamed dumplings:
- Make ready all your ingredients and mix the chopped vegetables, ground meat, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper, taste and ensure it's to your preferred taste.
- Afterward, get a spoon and place a spoonful of the mixture onto each dumpling wrapper.
- Seal the edges of the dumpling wrappers and steam the dumplings for some minutes until cooked through in skillet over medium heat.
Vanilla sauce:
- To make the vanilla sauce, heat milk in a saucepan over medium heat and stir in the sugar and vanilla extract. Continue stirring until all the sugar dissolves completely.
- When the milk is warm, slowly add the cornstarch mixture, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens, and let it cool slightly after removing it from heat and then
- serve the steamed dumplings with the vanilla sauce for a lovely experience!
