Truffle pasta recipe
Truffle pasta is a pasta dish in which truffle, a prized and aromatic fungus, often in the form of truffle oil or truffle shavings, is used to flavor the dish. It's a flavorful pasta preparation that usually involves incorporating truffle-infused ingredients like truffle oil, truffle butter, or shaved truffles into the pasta sauce. This results in a dish that brings out the uniquely earthy, pungent, and rich flavor of truffles, often complemented by other ingredients like cream, garlic, Parmesan cheese, or herbs to create a savory and indulgent pasta experience.
Ingredients
- Fettuccine Pasta or your preferred type
- Unsalted butter
- Olive oil
- Garlic minced
- Heavy cream
- Truffle oil either black or white
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish optional
Instructions
- Make ready all your ingredients. Grab your and cook the pasta according to the package instructions in a pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water, and set aside.
- In a sizeable frying pan, melt the butter or olive over medium heat and then saute the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to let it brown. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously, and let it simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
- Now, add the cooked pasta to the frying pan and toss it gently in the cream sauce to well coat them. You then drizzle the truffle oil over the pasta and toss again to combine. You can add a small amount of the reserved pasta water to the sauce if sauce is too thick. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta and toss once more until the cheese is melted and coats the pasta evenly.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Garnish with any other toppings and serve the truffle pasta immediately while it's hot.
