Ingredients
  

  • Schupfnudel store-bought or homemade
  • Cooked ham diced
  • Onion finely chopped
  • Mushrooms sliced
  • Spinach chopped
  • Grated cheese of your choice
  • Sour cream
  • Butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Make ready all your ingredients and prep all ingredients that needs cutting, grating, and others so that we don't waste much time on this casserole. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a frying pan, heat the butter or oil over medium heat, add the chopped onion and fry until it turns golden.
  • Add the diced ham
  • to the skillet and cook until lightly lightly browned and then add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they start to soften.
  • Add and stir in the neatly chopped spinach and cook until wilted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Getting another pot, boil the Schupfnudel according to package instructions. Drain them well and grab a greased casserole dish, and spread half of the Schupfnudel at the bottom of the dish.
  • When done, spread half of the already prepared mixture over the Schupfnudel and then sprinkle half of the grated cheese over the mixture.
  • Do the same thing for the remaining Schupfnudel, mixture, and cheese.
  • and then pour the sour cream evenly over the top layer.
  • Cover the casserole dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes. Remove the foil and continue to bake for some additional minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • After completion, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve hot.
