Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- If using store-bought Schupfnudeln, follow the package instructions for preparation. If making homemade Schupfnudeln, cook them in boiling water until they float to the surface, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until it becomes crispy. Remove the cooked bacon from the skillet and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, using the bacon fat, add the chopped onion and butter. Sauté the onion until it becomes soft and translucent.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked Schupfnudeln, crispy bacon, sautéed onions, shredded cheese, and sour cream or crème fraîche. Mix everything together until well combined.
