Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch springform pan or line the bottom with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the creamed butter and sugar mixture, alternating with the Fanta soda. Mix until just combined.Optionally, fold in the orange zest for added citrus flavor.
- Pour the Fanta cake batter into the prepared springform pan, spreading it evenly.
- Place the springform pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the springform pan for about 10-15 minutes.
- Carefully release the sides of the springform pan and transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust the top of the Fanta cake with powdered sugar if desired before slicing and serving.
Notes
Although optional, adding the orange zest enhances the citrus flavor. You can leave it out if you'd like.
