- ripe tomatoes
- mozzarella cheese

Instructions
- Wash and dry the tomatoes and fresh basil leaves. Slice the tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese into rounds of approximately the same thickness, about 1/4-inch thick.
- Arrange the tomato slices and mozzarella slices alternately in a circular or overlapping pattern on a serving platter or individual plates.
- Tuck fresh basil leaves in between the layers of tomatoes and mozzarella.
- Drizzle extra-virgin olive oil evenly over the tomato and mozzarella slices.Follow by drizzling balsamic vinegar (or balsamic glaze if preferred) over the salad.
- Season the salad with a sprinkle of salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
