Ingredients
  

  • honey
  • olive oil
  • garlic
  • apple cider vinegar
  • salt and black pepper
  • chicken breast or thigh
  • soy sauce

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, grated ginger (if using), lemon juice or apple cider vinegar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk the ingredients together until well combined.
  • Place the chicken pieces in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag.Pour the honey chicken marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated evenly. Massage the marinade into the chicken to ensure it's well-covered.
  • Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Marinate the chicken for at least 1 hour, or ideally, overnight in the refrigerator to enhance the flavor.
  • Once marinated, you can cook the chicken using your preferred method—grilling, baking, or pan-searing.If grilling, preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill until cooked through, ensuring to flip the pieces halfway through the cooking time.
  • If baking, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the chicken in a baking dish and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • If pan-searing, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken pieces for about 6-8 minutes per side or until cooked through and golden brown.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes.Serve the honey-marinated chicken hot, garnished with fresh herbs like parsley or green onions, if desired.
