Chicken Balls
Crispy and flavorful chicken balls made from seasoned ground chicken, deep-fried to golden perfection, perfect for snacking or entertaining.
Equipment
- mixing bowl
- deep fryer
- slotted spoon
- paper towels
- plate
- paper towels
Ingredients
- ground chicken
- bread crumbs
- onion
- garlic
- soy sauce
- salt and black pepper
- fresh cilantro
- eggs
- cooking oil
- ginger
- chili
- all purpose flour
- paprika
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, green chili (if using), soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, and chopped cilantro. Mix well to combine all the ingredients evenly.
- Take a small portion of the chicken mixture and roll it between your palms to form a bite-sized ball. Repeat until all the mixture is used, making sure the balls are compact and evenly sized for even cooking.
- In another bowl, mix together flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. This will be the coating for the chicken balls.
- Roll each chicken ball in the flour mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated. Place the coated balls on a plate and let them rest for a few minutes to set the coating.
- In a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot, heat cooking oil to 350°F (175°C). Use enough oil to fully submerge the chicken balls during frying.
- Carefully drop a few coated chicken balls into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding the fryer, which can lower the oil temperature. Fry the balls for 4-5 minutes or until they are deep golden brown and cooked through, with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Use a slotted spoon or spider strainer to remove the chicken balls from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve the chicken balls hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour sauce, plum sauce, or spicy mayo.
