Equipment

  • large skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • wooden spoon
  • coriander

Ingredients

  • boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • olive oil
  • garlic powder
  • paprika
  • salt and black pepper
  • lemon wedges

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. This helps the seasoning adhere better and promotes browning.
  • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create a seasoning paste.
  • Rub the seasoning paste all over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are evenly coated. Allow the seasoned chicken to sit for about 10 minutes at room temperature. This allows the flavors to infuse.
  • Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add a bit of olive oil.
Carefully place the seasoned chicken breasts in the hot skillet. Sear them for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they develop a golden-brown crust. Do not move the chicken around while searing; this helps in achieving a nice sear.
  • Transfer the skillet with the seared chicken breasts to the preheated oven.
Bake the chicken for about 12-15 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C). Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts, so use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest in the skillet for 5 minutes. Resting allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, ensuring juiciness.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
Serve the succulent chicken breasts hot with your favorite sides. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving for a burst of citrusy flavor, if desired.

Notes

  • Be mindful of the thickness of the chicken breasts. Thicker breasts may require a slightly longer cooking time in the oven.
  • For added flavor, you can marinate the chicken in the seasoning paste for a longer time, even overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Experiment with different seasonings like herbs, lemon zest, or chili flakes to customize the flavor according to your preference.
Enjoy your succulent chicken breasts with a perfect balance of tenderness and flavor. This versatile dish pairs well with salads, roasted vegetables, or pasta, making it a go-to recipe for various meals.
