  • 1 whole chicken

  • salt and black pepper
  • paprika
  • garlic

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Place the washed and dried chicken on a clean and flat surface.
    Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken, spreading it evenly to coat the skin.
    In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  • Sprinkle the seasoning mixture all over the chicken, rubbing it gently to ensure even coverage. If using, sprinkle the dried thyme or rosemary over the chicken as well.
  • Tear off a large piece of aluminum foil, enough to fully wrap the chicken.
    Place the chicken in the center of the foil.
  • Carefully wrap the chicken with the foil, ensuring it's completely sealed to trap the steam during roasting.
  • Place the foil-wrapped chicken on a baking sheet or in a roasting pan.
  • Roast the chicken in the preheated oven for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) when measured at the thickest part of the thigh without touching the bone.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, carefully open the foil (watch out for steam) and let the chicken rest for about 10-15 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy chicken.
  • Carve the chicken and serve it with your favorite side dishes.
