Instructions
- Rinse the samp thoroughly under cold running water to remove any impurities.In a large pot, combine the rinsed samp, 3 cups of water, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a lid, and let the samp simmer for about 1 to 1.5 hours or until it's tender. Stir occasionally and add more water if needed.
- In a separate large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
