Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices of bread
  • slices of ham
  • slices of cheese
  • mayonnaise or ketchup

Instructions
 

  • Lay out two slices of your chosen bread on a clean surface.If you like, spread your preferred condiments onto one or both slices of bread. Common choices include mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, or even a combination of these.
  • Place 2-3 slices of ham onto one slice of bread. You can adjust the amount of ham to your liking.
  • Lay 1-2 slices of cheese on top of the ham. You can use more cheese if you prefer an extra cheesy sandwich.
  • Place the second slice of bread on top of the cheese, condiment-side down. This forms your sandwich.
  • If desired, cut the sandwich in half diagonally or straight across to create two smaller triangles or rectangles.
  • Serve your classic ham and cheese sandwich immediately, or wrap it in parchment paper or foil for a portable meal.
