This recipe guides you through creating a classic tomato pasta that's both quick and satisfying. The tomato sauce is prepared with aromatic garlic, basil, and a touch of red pepper flakes for a hint of heat. Ingredients
  

  • pasta
  • olive oil
  • garlic
  • red pepper
  • crushed tomatoes
  • salt and black pepper
  • fresh basil
  • grated parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the cooked pasta and set it aside.
  • In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1 minute until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
  • Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir to combine. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and the flavors meld together.
  • Tear the fresh basil leaves into pieces and add them to the tomato sauce. Stir to incorporate the basil into the sauce.
  • Add the cooked and drained pasta to the tomato sauce. Toss the pasta and sauce together until the pasta is well coated with the tomato sauce.
  • Divide the tomato pasta among serving plates. If desired, garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and additional torn basil leaves.
