Ingredients

  • 6-8 fresh jalapeño peppers (adjust based on your desired heat level)

  • 3 cloves of garlic

  • 1/4 cup white vinegar

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin

  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves (optional, for added flavor)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • Start by wearing gloves to handle the jalapeño peppers, as they can be quite spicy and may irritate your skin and eyes. Remove the stems from the jalapeños and cut them in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds and membranes if you prefer a milder sauce.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the jalapeño halves and garlic cloves. Cook them for a few minutes until they start to char slightly, turning occasionally. This will help enhance their flavor.
  • Transfer the cooked jalapeños and garlic to a blender or food processor.
  • Add the white vinegar, lime juice, salt, black pepper, cumin, paprika, and fresh cilantro leaves (if using) to the blender.
  • Blend the mixture until smooth. If the sauce seems too thick, you can drizzle in the olive oil while blending to achieve your desired consistency.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if needed, adding more salt, lime juice, or spices to suit your preferences.
  • Once the sauce is well-blended and seasoned, transfer it to a clean glass jar or bottle.
    8. Store the jalapeño sauce in the refrigerator. It will keep for several weeks.
Enjoy your homemade jalapeño sauce as a dip, marinade, or condiment to add a spicy kick to your favorite dishes!

Notes

One important thing to note when making a jalapeño sauce recipe is to handle the jalapeño peppers with care.
Their natural oils can cause irritation to your skin and eyes, so it's recommended to wear gloves when handling and chopping the peppers.
Additionally, be mindful of the heat level you desire in the sauce. The spiciness of jalapeños can vary, so consider adjusting the number of seeds and membranes you include in the recipe to achieve your preferred level of heat.
