Homemade Cinnamon Buns are a labor of love that yield a sweet reward. The process of making the dough from scratch and savoring the aroma as they bake is a truly gratifying experience. Ingredients
  

  • dry yeast
  • warm milk
  • granulated sugar
  • unsalted butter
  • salt
  • eggs
  • all purpose flour
  • brown sugar
  • cinnamon
  • vanilla extract
  • cream cheese

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • To the yeast mixture, add granulated sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and half of the flour. Mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the remaining flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  • Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a large rectangle (about 16x12 inches).
  • Spread the softened butter over the dough. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough
  • Starting from one of the longer edges, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
  • Place the cinnamon buns in a greased baking pan. Cover with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 15-20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the cinnamon buns for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  • In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  • Once the cinnamon buns are out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes before generously spreading the cream cheese glaze over the warm buns.
  • Serve the homemade cinnamon buns warm and gooey. Enjoy the delightful combination of soft dough, fragrant cinnamon, and creamy glaze.
