Ingredients
  

  • basil leaves
  • parmesan cheese
  • pine nuts
  • garlic
  • olive oil
  • salt and black pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a food processor or blender, add the fresh basil leaves and pine nuts. Pulse a few times until they are roughly chopped.
  • Add the peeled garlic cloves and grated Parmesan cheese to the food processor. Blend again until the mixture is well combined.
  • While the food processor is running, slowly stream in the extra-virgin olive oil through the feed tube. Continue blending until the mixture reaches a smooth and creamy consistency.
  • Season the pesto with a pinch of salt and a dash of black pepper. Taste and adjust the seasoning to your preference. You can also add more Parmesan cheese if desired.
  • Using a rubber spatula, scrape down the sides of the food processor to ensure all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Transfer the pesto to a clean jar or airtight container.
  • Use the pesto immediately or store it in the refrigerator for up to a week. Enjoy it as a sauce for pasta, a spread for sandwiches, a dip for vegetables, or a flavorful addition to salads.
