Ingredients
  

  • all purpose flour
  • baking powder
  • salt
  • unsalted butter
  • granulated sugar
  • eggs
  • heavy cream
  • whole milk
  • food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring they are well incorporated.Mix in the pure vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture and the milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Spoon the cupcake batter evenly into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each liner about two-thirds full.
  • Bake the cupcakes in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting.
  • In a bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy and smooth.Gradually add the powdered sugar, milk or heavy cream, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Beat until the frosting is fluffy and well combined.
  • Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, use a piping bag and tip or an offset spatula to frost them with the vanilla buttercream frosting.
  • Add sprinkles or other decorations of your choice to the frosted cupcakes.
