Mozzarella sticks are a popular appetizer or snack made from slices of mozzarella cheese coated in seasoned breadcrumbs and then deep-fried until golden and crispy. Ingredients
  

  • 12 mozzarella cheese sticks

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (seasoned or plain)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • Oil for frying

  • Marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce for serving

Instructions
 

  • Cut the mozzarella sticks in half to make 24 shorter sticks.
  • In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour in one, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in the third.
  • Take a mozzarella stick and dredge it in the flour, shaking off any excess.
  • Dip the flour-coated mozzarella stick into the beaten eggs, ensuring it is fully coated.
  • Roll the stick in the breadcrumbs mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs to the cheese.
  • Repeat steps 3 to 5 for all the mozzarella sticks, placing them on a plate or baking sheet.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or a deep, heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully add a few mozzarella sticks to the hot oil, being cautious not to overcrowd the pot. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 1-2 minutes. Avoid overcooking, as the cheese might melt completely.
  • Remove the fried mozzarella sticks using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  • Repeat the frying process for the remaining mozzarella sticks.
  • Serve the Mozzarella sticks hot with marinara sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.
