- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.Mix in the pure vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet butter mixture, alternating with the whole milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients.
- Mix everything until a smooth and well-combined cake batter forms.
- Divide the cake batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
- Remove the cakes from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter using an electric mixer until it becomes creamy and smooth.Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in the pure vanilla extract.Add the whole milk or heavy cream, one tablespoon at a time, until you achieve your desired frosting consistency. The frosting should be fluffy and easy to spread.
