Instructions
- Pat the beef cubes dry with paper towels and season them with salt and pepper.
- In a large Dutch oven or heavy-bottomed pot, heat the vegetable oil or butter over medium-high heat.
- Brown the beef in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Sear the beef cubes on all sides until they develop a deep brown crust. Remove the browned beef from the pot and set it aside.
- In the same pot, add the chopped onions and sauté them until they become soft and translucent, about 5-6 minutes. Add the minced garlic and continue cooking for another minute.
- Stir in the sweet paprika and tomato paste, cooking for a couple of minutes to release the flavors.
- Return the browned beef cubes to the pot and mix them with the onion and spice mixture.
