  • soy sauce
  • rice vinegar
  • garlic
  • fresh ginger
  • sesame oil

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings or drumettes with cornstarch (or potato starch), salt, and black pepper until the chicken is well coated. Shake off any excess starch.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
Working in batches, fry the chicken for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy. Remove the chicken from the oil and place them on a wire rack to drain excess oil.

  • In a saucepan, combine gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey (or brown sugar), minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, about 3-4 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, toss the double-fried chicken with the prepared sauce until the chicken is evenly coated.
  • Transfer the sauced chicken to a serving plate. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish.
Serve the Korean fried chicken hot and enjoy the crispy, sticky, and flavorful delight!
