Ingredients
  

  • all purpose flour
  • baking powder
  • salt
  • egs
  • granulated sugar
  • milk
  • vanilla extract
  • sweetened condensed milk
  • evaporated milk
  • whole milk
  • whipped cream

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, use an electric mixer or whisk to beat the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy.
  • Gradually add the milk and vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture, mixing until well combined.
  • Gently fold the dry flour mixture into the egg yolk mixture until just combined.
  • In another clean mixing bowl, whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  • Carefully fold the whipped egg whites into the cake batter, using a gentle folding motion to maintain the lightness of the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • In a bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk. Mix well.
  • Once the cake is baked and slightly cooled, use a skewer or fork to poke holes all over the cake.
  • Slowly pour the three milks mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in. Start with half of the mixture and let it absorb before adding more
  • Cover the cake and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight. This allows the cake to fully absorb the milk mixture.
  • Before serving, prepare the whipped cream topping. In a bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  • Spread the whipped cream over the chilled cake.Slice and serve the Tres Leches Cake, savoring each heavenly bite.
