  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, use an electric mixer or hand whisk to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring they are well incorporated.Mix in the pure vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • If desired, fold in chocolate chips, chopped nuts, dried fruit, or any other add-ins of your choice.
  • Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving enough space between them for spreading.
  • You can use a cookie scoop or two spoons to shape the dough.
