Pulled chicken is a dish where cooked chicken is shredded or into small, bite-sized pieces. It's often seasoned or marinated, and commonly used as a filling for sandwiches, tacos, wraps, or served over rice. The chicken is typically slow-cooked, roasted, or simmered until tender, making it easy to shred. The shredded chicken absorbs flavors well, making it versatile for various recipesĀ andĀ cuisines.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
- Chicken broth
- Barbecue or Worcester sauce
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Smoked paprika
- Apple cider vinegar
- Brown sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Dried oregano
Instructions
- Make ready all your ingredients and then preheat your oven and put your chicken breasts in a baking dish and into the oven or place chicken breasts in a slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together chicken broth, barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken in the slow cooker or in the baking dish. Cover the baking (cook for about 2hrs 30minutes) or slow cooker (cook on low for 6-8 hours) or until the chicken is tender and can be easily shredded with a fork.
- After cooking, use two forks to shred the chicken in the slow cooker, mixing it with the sauce.
- Serve the pulled chicken on buns, in tacos, salads or over rice.
