TILAPIA SOUP RECIPE

Tilapia soup is a soup that is usually enjoyed when hot and spicy. It ismostly paired with fufu for lunch, but can be taken with a few other foods aswell.

Equipment

  • blender
  • Sieve or mesh strainer.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tilapia
  • 3 scotch bonnet pepper
  • onion (chopped)
  • garlic clove (crushed)
  • tomatoes
  • garden egg
  • ground ginger
  • tomato paste
  • Salt (to taste)
  • cayenne pepper

Instructions
 

  • Wash tilapia and remove fins and scales and cut into smaller pieces asdesired.
  • Steam the tilapia and spice it with ginger, garlic,  ½ onion, salt and cayenne pepper. Add alittle water and let it steam for about ten minutes.
  • Get another saucepan and put in your ½ chopped onion,tomatoes, garden egg, tomato paste and scotch bonnet pepper. Add a little saltand a little water and put on fire for about ten minutes.
  • Blend the tomatoes, garden egg and pepper and sieveinto the saucepan on fire. Add some more water and let it be on fire for awhile.
  • Now add your steamed tilapia and its broth or stock to the soup and letit simmer for some more time.
  • Remove from fire when ready and serve.
