Delicious OMO TUO Recipe

Omo tuo happens to be one of my favorite meals especiallywhen served with hot groundnut soup and chicken.

  • 2 cups Rice
  • 500 mls water
  • 1 tbsp salt


  • Pour rice into a clean bowl, add water and rinseto remove excess starch
  • Transfer rice into the cooking pot, add salt andwater
  • Place it on fire to boil
  • Regulate the heat to ensure rice does not burn
  •  When cooked, use a wooden spatula to knead therice until soft.
  •   Repeat until you get a desired consistency
  •   Scoop desired amount into a small bowl and moldinto spherical or round balls
  •   Serve hot with groundnut soup or any other soupof choice.
  • Store remaining rice balls into a refrigeratoror storage container.

You can serve your delicious omo tuo or rice ball with:
  • Groundnut soup
  • Palm nut soup
