Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry blender or fork, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  • Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes. Serve the butter biscuits warm with butter, jam, or your favorite spread.

Notes

Cold butter is essential for achieving the desired flaky texture. Make sure to use butter that is cold and cubed, straight from the fridge.
Handle the dough as little as possible to prevent overworking it, which can result in tough biscuits.
For even baking, arrange the biscuits on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Feel free to customize these biscuits by adding grated cheese, herbs, or spices to the dough for extra flavor.
Serve the biscuits warm with butter, jam, or your favorite spread.
