Ingredients
  

  • zipper peas
  • chicken broth
  • salt and pepper
  • butter

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the zipper peas thoroughly under cold running water and drain them well.
  • In a large pot, bring the water or chicken broth to a boil over high heat.
  • Add the peas to the boiling water or broth and reduce the heat to medium.
  • Cover the pot and simmer the peas for 20-25 minutes, or until they are tender.
  • Drain the peas and return them to the pot.
  • Add the butter, salt, and pepper to taste, and stir well to combine.
  • Cook the peas for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the butter is melted and the peas are coated in the seasoned butter.
  • Serve the peas hot as a side dish or as a topping for salads, soups, or stews.

Fresh zipper peas are best for this recipe, but if they are not available, you can use frozen peas instead.
