Vanilla Butter Cream Frosting

3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 or 2 tablespoons milk
Mix butter and powdered sugar with whisker or electric mixer in a medium bowl on low speed
Pour and stir in vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of the milk.
Beat in remaining milk to make frosting smooth. (If frosting is too thick, beat in more milk)
If frosting becomes too thin, beat in a small amount of powdered sugar.
Frosts cake generously or frosts an 8- or 9-inch two-layer cake.
