Stuffed Cabbage Rolls Recipe
A cabbage roll is a dish made of cooked cabbage leaves wrapped around a variety of fillings. It is common dish to the cuisines of the Balkans, Central, Northern, Eastern Europe, Azerbaijan and Iran, as well as West Asia and Northern China.
1/3 cup uncooked white rice
8 cabbage leaves
1 pound lean ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 can condensed tomato soup
Boil water in a large saucepan under medium heat . Add rice and salt to taste. Cover it to cook for 20 minutes.
Boil water in another pan. Add 1 teaspoons salt to it. Add cabbage leaves and cook until softened.Drain and set aside
Mix ground beef, 1 cup cooked rice,chopped onion, slightly beaten egg, salt and pepper. Add 2 tablespoons of tomato soup. Mix well.
Divide the beef mixture equally among the cabbage leaves.
Roll and hold them with toothpicks or string
In a large skillet over medium heat, place the cabbage rolls and pour the remaining tomato soup over the top.
Under low heat, cover and boil it.Allow it to simmer for about 40 minutes.
Serve it warm
