How to Prepare Rice Water Porridge.

Rice water or rice porridge is mostly taken as breakfast by most Ghanaian. It is often taken with tea bread or biscuits, milk and sugar to taste.

How to prepare rice water.

  1. Fill a cooking pot with a reasonable amount of water
  2. Boil water under high heat
  3. Wash rice and add it to the boiling water
  4. Add nutmeg and negro pepper if preferred.
  5. Boil content for about 15 to 20 minutes
  6. Reduce heat when rice becomes tender
  7. Using a wooden spatula, knead the rice against the sides of the pot to mush the grains into smaller sizes.
  8. Let it boil for about 5 minutes.
  9. Remove from fire
  10. Add sugar to taste
  11. Add milk
  12. Serve with bread or biscuits whiles hot.
