Ingredients Caramel Apple Dump Cake

SAUCE:

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

DUMPLINGS:

1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup sugar

1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 cup milk

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup diced peeled tart apples

Steps

Combine together sauce ingredients plus 1-1/2 cups water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

Combine flour, sugar and baking powder in a large bowl. Add milk, butter and vanilla then stir until moistened.

Slowly fold in apples into the boiling sauce. Cook and cover over low heat for about 10 minutes.

Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream if preferred
